The English FA have charged Chelsea manager Antonio Conte with misconduct following his dismissal to the stands in his side’s 1-0 win over Swansea on Wednesday.

The Italian has until December 5 to respond to the charges, according to an FA statement.

“Antonio Conte has been charged with misconduct following his dismissal against Swansea City in the 43rd minute of the game yesterday [Wednesday 29 November],” the FA said.

“The Chelsea manager has until 6pm on 5 December to respond to the charge.”

Conte was sent to the stands some minutes before the first half of the game.

He had protested against a goal-kick awarded to Swansea by referee Neil Swarbrick and not a corner. He also questioned the visitors for time wasting.

The former Italy manager has, however, apologised to the referee and fourth official Lee Mason for his action.
