Eagles Tipped To Win 2018 World Cup
Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association, Musa Talle, is confident Nigeria will be the first African country to win the World Cup.
The Super Eagles will be among the five teams that will represent the continent in Russia next year.
Their best performance has been a second-round finish, which they first achieved in their maiden outing in 1994.
However, Talle, who spoke with newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, said the Eagles are destined to break the jinx.
“Our players have upgraded in terms of fitness, form and style of play, and this makes it very possible for them to bring the World Cup home from Russia in 2018,” he said.
“It is on record that no African country has ever won the Cup, but I am confident that Nigeria with the way they are playing now can break that record.’’
